# Creative breakthrough: a council for ideas

> A ready-made council for work that is competent and forgettable: what to remove, what to draw, and what to make unmistakable.

Four advisors for the week when the work is correct and nobody remembers it. Leonardo da Vinci asks you to draw the mechanism, Nikola Tesla asks what the finished thing looks like, Coco Chanel asks why anyone should notice, and Ada Lovelace hunts the assumption holding it all together.

## Who is at the table

- [Leonardo da Vinci](https://talktogoats.com/en/ask/leonardo-da-vinci.md): universal genius
- [Nikola Tesla](https://talktogoats.com/en/ask/nikola-tesla.md): vision of the future
- [Coco Chanel](https://talktogoats.com/en/ask/coco-chanel.md): style and nerve
- Ada Lovelace: technology and imagination

This is the table for a product, a brand, a design or a body of work that has stopped being interesting — including to you. It is also the room for the opposite problem: an idea so large it has no first step. Expect the conversation to move between observation, taste and structure rather than tactics; expect to be told to make something rough this week rather than to plan for a quarter.

Bring the thing that looks like everyone else's, the block you cannot explain, or the invention that exists only as a feeling. The four of them disagree about whether the answer is craft, vision, taste or rigour, and the summary at the end tells you which of those your situation actually needs first.
